The Electronic Cigarette

What is it?-

This device is called the Electronic Cigarette, or the E-Cigarette. It has been produced into many different models and has the normal function of a regular cigarette, but with no harmful chemicals from tobacco, since there is none. Though there is no tobacco there is still nicotine put into the liquid solution that is in the E-Cigarette cartridge, making it possible for someone to become addicted to it, if not already. Another feature is that the E-
Cigarette can not produce a smell, and has no second hand smoking, allowing people to get past the smoking laws and regulations in public, where smoking may have been prohibited.

How it Works-
The electronic cigarette is a relatively new product, but has grown rapidly in popularity. The E-cigarette is made to resemble tobacco smoking devices, such as cigarettes, cigars, and pipes; many are made to look like ballpoint pens and screw drivers to blend in better. Majority of the E-cigarette models are reusable with replaceable and refillable cartridges, but there are ones that can be disposable. The invention of the E-cigarette was made by a Chinese pharmacist named Hon Lik in 2003 and introduced it into the market the following year , and the start of exporting the new product was in 2005-2006.
The cigarette itself can come in many different models, but all resemble the same three components that make it: the mouth piece "cartridge," a heating element "atomizer,: and a battery.
Mouthpiece:
The mouthpiece is the cartridge where liquid is held to be vaporized and to be able to go straight to the user. It can be replaced when the liquid is completely gone, or special liquid can be dripped on the inside port of the cartridge to refill it. The main liquid that comes with the cartridge consists of a flavor and/or nicotine.
Heating Element:
This part of the E-cigarette is used to vaporize the solution so it can be inhaled, referred to as an "atomizer." It contains filaments that burn out and need to be replaced, and may cause the E-cigarette to become a recurring expense.
Battery & Electronics:
The battery is the largest component of the electronic cigarette. It can have either an electronic airflow sensor for automated operation, or a manual operating battery for the heating element, and the life of the battery vary upon size and type. To recharge the battery you are able to use an AC outlet, car, & USB. Some companies make a "Personal Charging Case."

Is it Safe?-

Despite the fact that the E-cigarette is less of a health hazard, compared to regular cigarettes with the harmful chemicals of tobacco in combustion, they are filled with many flaws and many states are trying to ban them. New York is pushing to be the first state to ban the E-cigarette arguing how it is becoming appealing to younger people and still holds the risks of nicotine addiction. Still no one has yet to find any chemicals or health problems with the E-cigarette, yet some Universities that have studied the device, they have had many problems with it and still testing whether there are chemicals that can be found same to tobacco.

Conclusion-

The electronic cigarette has proven to improve the lives of smokers with reducing the harmful chemicals that regular cigarettes had and by helping others since the E-cigarette does not produce second hand smoking. Even though there are many pros to this device, there are still cons such as younger people getting addicted to the nicotine that is found in the E-cigarette, as many states are trying to ban it. Even good devices can become bad.
